Workshop Outline

Trained as a medical doctor and research scientist, Dr. Kah-Wai Lin made a bold career shift over a decade ago to pursue his passion for landscape and wildlife photography. With a long-standing dream to create documentary films focused on cultural and wildlife conservation, he turned that vision into reality once funding became available. Deeply inspired by Mongolia’s unique heritage and wildlife, he has traveled there numerous times and spent the past three years working on several documentary film projects. In this workshop, Dr. Lin will share his journey as a documentary producer, from developing story ideas and conducting research to planning logistics and executing production. He will also discuss the challenges his team faced, including navigating cultural differences and filming in some of the world’s harshest environments. This session offers a behind-the-scenes look at the realities of documentary filmmaking and the lessons he’s learned along the way.

Dr. Kah-Wai Lin, MD, PhD.
